The Kansas Speedway is home to electrifying races and events that make your heart beat as you feel the vibrations from the cars speeding by.
On the weekend of April 19th, 2026, the annual NASCAR AdventHealth 400 Cup Series took place at the Kansas City Speedway. This is one of the 36 races in the NASCAR Cup Series race season.
The first AdventHealth 400 was held in 2011 and has been held annually since. This race consists of 267 laps, with the possibility of additional laps in overtime. The 267 laps are divided into three stages designed to increase the race’s competitiveness as drivers are forced to drive “hard” from the start.
This year, the 2026 winner is Tyler Reddick with his 5th win of the season.
The AdventHealth400 is a great event for Benedictine students to attend, thanks to its atmosphere and low cost. When first ariving, there are activities outside the arena, such as a simulator and cars on display. Once inside, there are merchandise and concession stands. Finally, once in the grandstands, the race will begin.
Freshman at Benedictine, David Schmidtz attended the race this past weekend and had this to say: “It was a really cool atmosphere, there’s something about… It felt American.”
From its high-speed races to its unique fun environment, the AdventHealth 400 continues to stand out as a memorable and accessible experience for students and racing fans alike.
