“We are passionate individuals that are motivated to help students, to make sure they are heard,” Simpson said.
Anthony Blum is a sophomore senator in student government.
“I want to increase communication with everyone, students and staff. The student government funds clubs, all clubs fall under SGA (student government association),” Blum said.
There are lots of areas of focus, the student government focuses on the main concerts such as “dining, raven unity, communication, and campus development,” according to Blum.
The student government recognizes and funds activities, where it’s run by students who work on finding solutions for student’s wellbeing.
“The student government funds club activities if it comes to us, and SGA uses the funding to benefit the campus. This year we installed the water bottle filling station on the second floor of FAC,” according to Blum.
Michael Argana is currently president of the student government.
“Each class has 20 senators, five executive members that represent the whole student body, 25 total,” Argana said.
A government works when the citizens feel heard. The student government answers to Linda Henry, who is the Vice President of Student Life.
“If I feel like my government isn’t representing, then being heard is the most important thing to the people that we serve,” Argana said.
