The winner of the Homecoming Week dorm competitions was announced Saturday during the Benedictine vs Grand View men’s soccer game. Cray-Seaburg and St. Joseph Hall emerged with the most amount of wins last week.
The homecoming traditions are made up of games and competitions amongst dormitories at Benedictine College. It consisted of a costume contest, capture the flag, a soccer tournament, a pep rally, banner competition, bed races, and the float parade.
The winner of the costume contest was Mary Ellen of St. Elizabeth Hall as a plague doctor. The winner of the soccer tournament was Off Campus Housing. For the campus-wide capture the flag, dorms were grouped up into teams designed by color, and the winner of the game was the Blue team, which consisted of Memorial, Newman, Cray-Seaburg/St. Joe, Guadalupe, St. Elizabeth and apartments.
Coming in third place in the pep rally competition was Off Campus Housing, in second place was St. Michael Hall, and in first place was Cray-Seaburg and St. Joseph.
Coming in third place for the banner competition was the apartments, in second place was St. Elizabeth Hall, and in first place was Cray-Seaburg/St. Joseph.
Coming in third place for the float parade was St. Michael Hall, in second place was Memorial Hall and in first place was On Campus Housing.
In the overall competition ranking, St. Elizabeth Hall placed in third, Off-Campus housing in second, and Cray-Seaburg/St. Joseph came in first place, receiving the Raven Cup, the Homecoming Week championship trophy.
