The Ravens opened up their 2020 season by dismantling Clarke 38-0, last week in Dubuque, Iowa. The offense was clicking as the team went to a duel quarterback system in Garett Kettle and Luke Laskowski.
Kettle threw for 190 yards on 9 of 12 throwing while Lakowski threw for 36 yards on 4 of 10 passes.
Ravens were never in trouble as touchdowns came rather easy especially in the air. Tre Adger hauled in two touchdowns earning 63 yards for the whole game. Alex Blake caught a touchdown as well. Blake caught four passes for 105 yards against the Pride.
The Ravens have never lost to their opponent this week, the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton are 0-13 against Benedictine in all-time meetings. But, this is their best chance to earn their first victory ever.
The Opponent
The Wildcats return a majority of their firepower on offense from a year ago led by quarterback Korbin Marcum who threw for 257 yards in their win against Evangel last week.
Last season, Marcum threw for over 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns. The Raven secondary is going to have their hands full trying to defend the pocket passing ability of Marcum.
Last week, the Wildcats defeated Evangel 34-17 for a huge win on the opening weekend of play for Heart teams. Marcum accounted for all four of the Wildcats touchdowns as the defense also earned a safety.
Culver-Stockton used to be an easy victory for the Ravens, but not this year. Marcum will need to be contained along with his running back, Jordan Grant, who loves to catch from the backfield.
#4 QB Korbin Marcum: 257 yds/g; 4 TDs; 1 INT
#1 RB Jordan Grant: 142 yds/g; 21 rec yds/g
#4 LB Eric Nicks: 8 tkls; 1.5 tfl; 1 sack
