All the eyes of the NAIA Lacrosse world will descend on Atchison, KS, tonight. The #8 Benedictine College Ravens will host the top team in the country, and conference rival, the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees.
The Ravens are coming in on a two-game winning streak. They sit at 4-3 overall. They currently stand in first place in the KCAC with a 4-0 conference record.
The Fighting Bees are second in the KCAC standings They come in with an overall record of 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Both teams like to fill up the scoreboard, as they are tied for fourth in the NAIA by putting up 14 goals a game.
The difference between these top 10 opponents may come on the defensive end. St. Ambrose ranks fifth in the NAIA, giving up only seven goals a game. However, the Ravens give up over nine.
The last time these conference foes met, St. Ambrose completed the season sweep over Benedictine. They defeated the Ravens 10-9 in the KCAC Tournament Semifinals at Legacy Field.
The Ravens are the highest-ranked remaining opponent St. Ambrose will play the rest of the regular season. This contest is the biggest obstacle between them and an undefeated season.
The showdown is set for 7:00 p.m. this evening. The Ravens look to play spoiler and tighten their grip on first place in the KCAC heading into the home stretch of the 2022 season.
