Thursday evening Benedictine College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams will play their first home double-header of the semester
They will take on their Heart of America Athletic Conference foe, the Culver-Stockton Wildcats.
The Lady Ravens will open up the evening at 5:30. They will be looking to rebound after a tough loss over the weekend in Des Moines, Iowa against the Grand View Vikings.
Head Coach Chad Folsom mentioned how his team is eager to get back to playing at home after multiple of weeks on the road.
“We do like playing at home and are looking forward to getting there again,” Folsom said.
The women’s team has been dominant at home this year. They have won seven of their eight contests to this point inside the Nolan Gymnasium and will look to continue that success Thursday.
The men’s game will begin at 7:30. The Ravens are coming off a win over Grand View which took place on Sunday.
The Ravens have also seen a lot of success at home this year, winning all six of their matchups to this point. Head Coach Ryan Moody commented on their success at home.
“We love playing inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium and in front of our fans. Our guys feed off the energy of our home crowd,” Moody said.
That crowd will get some recognition Thursday as it will be Student Appreciation Night, which will give the students of Benedictine College a chance to be part of the festivities throughout the evening and allow the basketball teams to show their appreciation for all the support.
Coach Folsom is encouraging students to show their support of the Ravens as the season continues.
“We thank you for coming so far. We hope that this semester (we’ve got several home games coming up) that you all come and cheer them on,” Coach Folsom said.
