The Ravens take on the Statesmen for the second time this season. Benedictine fell to William Penn 84-58 in November.
Last game, the Ravens fell to rival Baker 67-65 on Wednesday night. The back-and-forth contest ended with a missed Matt Austin jump shot that failed to see the rim on the final possession. Austin finished with 15 points. Jayden Temme led all scores with 19 points on 8-12 shooting.
Colby Nickels will be a game time decision to play today after sustaining a hard fall over a Peru State player three games ago. He has missed the past two games with the injury.
The Opponent
William Penn, the third ranked team in the NAIA, is on a tear this season only losing one regular season game so far. The Statesmen are on a 11 game win streak while leading the country in three valuable categories. They lead the country in scoring, assists per game and rebounds per game. This dominance on all facets of the game will make it tough for the Ravens to upset the highly talented team.
The Statesmen are led by Karmari Newman. Newman leads the NAIA in 3-pointers per game while averaging 19 points per game. Newman will be looking for a strong outing against the Ravens. Newman finished with 7 points on 1-11 shooting from the field when the Ravens and Statesmen first matched up.
