It was a dream come true for Fore.

“When coach Atkins called me I had a big smile on my face and I was ready to accept it that day because I love sports and I love being around basketball,” Fore said.

She had spent this spring playing basketball professionally in the Women’s Blue Chip Professional League for the Kansas City Majestics but a concussion caused her to end her playing career.

She appeared in four games for the Majestics, averaging 4.8 points a game

“When she came back and said she was interested in coming, I thought we just landed a good one,” Adkins said.

With her foot in the door, Fore hopes to one day run her own program.

“I would like to work into a head position at least with basketball, that’s my plan right now,” Fore said. “I’d like to do it for as long as I can until maybe some kids come around, but even after that I am sure I’ll still be in the gym somehow.”

She said that she will likely put bits and pieces of Benedictine head coach Chad Folsom’s offensive and defensive philosophy to incorporate into the her new team.
