This past weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in the dedication of the Ravens Memorial Park and enthroning of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
It was a simple, yet beautiful, ceremony. A group of students represented those who had died before they had the chance to graduate from Benedictine.
The families of many of the deceased came to remember their loved ones, distributing holy water throughout the area and leaving roses by the plaque with the names of the deceased.
After the ceremony was done, I had the opportunity to spend some time listening to stories about the student I represented, and could see how much the ceremony meant to his parents.
It was a beautiful opportunity to see the whole Benedictine College family—students, faculty, staff, administrators, monks, sisters, parents, and alumni—come together as a community.
To all those who participated, thank you.
