Movie rental stores have changed the way everyone watches movies.
Everyone has his or her preferences, whether it’s watching a film online or renting a DVD from the store.
In the Atchison area however, there are the three primary services Movie Gallery, Netflix and Redbox.
Let us take a gander at the most attractive and repulsive features of each.
Features
Traditionally, Movie Gallery has had the advantage over other movie providers due to its simple order and deliver method, which allows customers to order movies as they wish.
Netflix has the popular option to download and/or stream movies online addition to a mail service similar to Movie Gallery’s.
Redbox pretty much only offers movies through their kiosks.
However, due to such limited physical space, there are only so many movie titles that kiosks can offer at any given time.
Selection
Netflix and Movie Gallery are similar as far as movie selection goes, with each offering around 100,000 titles at any time according to their respective websites.
This gargantuan number of movies means that there is always some kind of cinematic adventure to watch for the average bored college student.
Redbox, however, falls short because their selection is comprised of just “new” and “brand new” releases.
This shouldn’t be a problem if all you want is the latest flick, but if you are one of those old-timey, quoting, reminiscent movie watchers, you will not have many options.
Price
Movie Gallery rentals cost a few bucks.
What the heck. It may have been reasonable then, but in today’s society where everybody wants everything fast and easy, such a price is somewhat outrageous.
Netflix doesn’t do so well price wise either, being that their prices aren’t that much cheaper than Movie Gallery’s.
However, Netflix is still cheaper than Movie Gallery, and more people seem to be drawn to it due to its online services.
Redbox movies only cost $1 plus tax per night fee for new and not-quite-new movies, making it the ideal selection for college students on a tight budget.
Thanks to this low price, it makes the small selection very easy to disregard.
Summary
Movie Gallery
Expansive movie selection, expensive and there is no downloadable option
Netflix
Large range of movies, offers order-deliver and download options.
More expensive than RedBox but still costs less than Movie Gallery.
Redbox
The cheapest of all three, however the smallest selection. Ideal for new and brand new movies
If you care what your eyes will be viewing take a trip to Movie Gallery.
If you have Netflix’s services, use them. You’re paying monthly for it anyway, right?
However, if you just want to watch any movie, just Redbox it; your wallet will thank you.
