The Executive Rambling: SGA hopes to connect with student body through website

Dear Fellow Ravens,

It seems just like yesterday when we all returned from our families to start the second semester.

So I am sure you are all just as surprised as I am that we have already completed our third week of classes.

I often feel like time moves even faster at Benedictine than when I am at other places.

As a result, communication between us suffers.

Our struggles in communication include almost every group on campus.

Things get even more complicated when we try to communicate between different groups and organizations.

Because of this I have often dreamt of a central location where all BC students can go to get information that we need.

At times, I have talked about my dream to different members of the BC community.

After talking to the SGA Executive Board and other members in the Senate we have concluded that a Student Government run website made for students would help solve many of these communication issues.

On this web site there will be forums for different clubs and organizations to tell the campus what they are doing.

There will be a calendar of events on and off campus.

On this website there will be a Student Government corner where students can voice their concerns to us and we can inform you of what we are doing for you.

This student run website will be run through a company called “The Daily Jolt.”

The Daily Jolt provides college student governments across the nation with the tools necessary bring a student website to their campuses.

Between now and our websites launch I encourage you to go to www.dailyjolt.com to get an idea of what our website is going to look like.

We at SGA strongly believe that this website will drastically help communication on campus. We hope you are as excited about as we are.

As we get closer to the website’s launch more details will come your way.

And as always, remember we did this for you!

So if there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.
